A few things you should probably know about me
I’m happiest at home.
Give me a good kitchen, something delicious simmering on the stove, a cup of coffee and nowhere I have to be, and I’m pretty content.
I love the beach.
I love cake.
I love travelling, although I’m equally happy spending an entire weekend at home.
I have a tendency to get very excited about food-related things that other people might consider slightly ridiculous.
I will absolutely talk to you about what you had for dinner.
I like learning things. I like figuring out how things work. I like making things with my hands.
I’m curious about just about everything.
And after all these years, I’m still convinced that one of life’s greatest pleasures is feeding people you love something really good.
What all of those years taught me…
I’ve learned that life is short.
I’ve learned that plans change.
I’ve learned that sometimes you have to let go of something you built in order to find your way back to what really matters.
I’ve learned that “perfect” is wildly overrated.
I’ve learned that there is a lot of joy to be found in ordinary things.
- A meal made from what’s already in the pantry.
- A recipe handed down from someone you love.
- A kitchen full of people.
- A quiet morning with coffee.
- A really good piece of cake.
I’ve learned that taking care of yourself and taking care of other people aren’t always easy.
And I’ve learned that sometimes the most important thing you can do is simply begin again.
I’m glad you’re here.
Whether you’ve been following Foodivore since the beginning or you just found me today, welcome.
This isn’t about becoming the perfect cook.
It’s not about making every meal from scratch.
And it’s definitely not about adding more rules to your life.
It’s about learning how to make good food in a way that works for your life.
I’ll share the recipes, shortcuts, techniques, kitchen wisdom and little bits of food knowledge I’ve picked up along the way.
You bring your appetite.
We’ll figure out the rest.
Welcome back to Foodivore.
