Why You and I aren’t that different. The beginning of a 12 year journey.

It’s been 12 years now since the beginning of this food journey for me.

At the beginning of this journey I was overweight, tired, sluggish, lacked the motivation to do just about anything and I was trying desperately to get pregnant.

We ate fast food weekly along with hamburger helper, margarine, boxed cake mixes, Wonder Bread and never, ever looked at the ingredient listing on a label.  (I mean, why would you–it’ll just make you feel bad, right?
Seriously, I’m not sure at that point in my life that I could have felt worse, reading a label or 2 might have been a smart idea.)

What’s my point here?  The point is that I am the same as you.  The point is that I started out in the same grocery aisle with the Cool Whip, Kraft Dinner and frozen lasagna in my cart.  We aren’t  that different, you and I.  We’re pretty much the same–except I started (very slowly) to make some very significant changes in regards to what we eat and how I shop.  I started to educate myself about WHY food is so important and how it affects EVERY aspect of your life.

So, this post is just to let you know, that it doesn’t matter where you start out, you ALWAYS have the option of choice-the option to make a significant difference.  And it only starts with one step.  One choice.  One different decision.  If I can do it, so can you.  Word.
